Does it actually count as a car, though? |

About as much as the other tasteless piece of junk in the picture. |

*looks around* What? Did you call me? Ooooh, I see - a Panther DeVille /vehicle_31017-Panther-DeVille-1974.html Beautiful! Thanks for letting me know, John! |

Well, we all have to be different. I wouldn’t be seen dead in it. You’ll be suggesting next that I should listen to music that requires electric current to turn the records. |

The diversity of members and their interests is probably what I enjoy the most here on IMCDB. For me, this has just become some sort of a running gag: If you dismiss a certain car, the chances are quite high that I may like it - which is rather astonishing, as I fully agree with you about modern cars looking all the same (you say "after 1980", I stopped caring around the turn of this century). Indeed! But only because they recently started making vinyl records with a running time of almost half an hour per side. Very convenient! And my 1951 radiogram nods approvingly. |

I like the radiogram! It is therefore necessary that I tell you that most of my antique music is on MP3 files for playing back in my car or through the laptop. I do, however, have a large Technics stacking system that plays my irreplaceable tapes and which dates back to a couple of years after cds came into popular use, say late 80s? That replaced a venerable Hacker radiogram which was bought second-hand just after we got married in 1974. http://www.easyballoons.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/6-Hacker-stereo.jpg -- Last edit: 2019-01-24 19:07:37 |

Turns out you are a lot more up to date than I am - wasn't expecting that! The aforementioned radiogram is my "daily driver", but I am surrounded by 40 more valve radios and radiograms dating from 1944-1962. I also connect them with laptops and computers, making sure that every time I listen to music or sounds from a website one of these vintage machines is involved. The Hacker unit is a nice one, even though it's way too young for my taste. |
