These stripes are advertised online as alternately 'Racing Stripes' or 'Rally Stripes'. Not clear if they were ever an official Volkswagen option. |

checked online for brochure and VW Forums for what i understand, it would be an option called " Second Skin " and offered as dealer-installed option |
