Shouldn't has side grills? |

The side grilles were on the 300 SL. This is a 190 SL with a hardtop. The big rear window indicates 1960+. |

Thanks. |

Is it OK to have 'with hardtop' in the extra info field? |

I don´t think so. |

At a time it was said that it was not useful to mention accessories in the name |

I found that the hardtop version has been sold as 'Coupé' There were also minor differences in standard equipment between the Roadster and the Coupé. |

Isn't the coupé the one with permanent roof? |

I suppose so. But I don't know if the hardtop was just an accessory or a fixed roof. Or if there are any differences between a Roadster with hardtop and a Coupé. |

I do not know for this one, but for the C107 vs R107+hardtop there are differences (the length of the car is not the same, for example, and the roof looks different) -- Last edit: 2007-07-28 00:31:33 |

Tiens, voilà une discussion qui me rappelle quelque chose... |

The first cars sold in Coupé version, didn't have a soft top. The Coupé came with a detachable hardtop and, as DynaMike pointed out, had a more complete equipment that included the chrome trim above the wheel arches and on the sills, different seats, etc. ( but no soft top ). From August 1955, it seems the hardtop could be bought as an option and a car could have both tops, but I'm not sure if it was still called Coupé. -- Last edit: 2007-07-28 23:47:09 |
