It's a 1971 [TC1] and it seems to be a GXL.

I don't think that Knutsen (or Knudsen) was an official name of the Taunus...

Haah, annother great license-plate! Thanks from a collector!

In Germany "Knudsen" is the nickname for this Ford, because it's nose was designed personally by the former Ford-Boss -his name was Knudsen- of that time.

We also say "Adenauer"-Benz to the Mercedes 300-Limousine of the 50ies, because our first chancellor had that one in use.
"Knudsen", "Adenauer" are well known nicknames like "Pagode" (Mercedes W 113) or "Nasenbär" (coato-mundi) for a VW 411 or "Schneewittchensarg" ("Snow White's coffin") for a Volvo 1800 ES
