The format is usually wrong on prop plates so they don't use a valid plate number. I think Texas plates were just black on white in the late '70s and early '80s. The plates with the red "TEXAS" and blue plate number weren't issued until the mid-1980s.

1980 had the reverse lights integrated into the bottom of the brake lights yes?

This car is not an '84 it is period correct for the movie. 1978-80 model looking at the taillights. By 1981 they had changed over to a narrower tail lens so cannot be newer than '80.

Except this is a 4-door sedan, and these taillights started in 1984 for the sedan.
