1977+ for the colour. Maybe a 1978+ Mexican built. If there is a shot of the back the air I would tell. If there are air scoop it is a Brazilian, If there aren't it is a '77 German built 1200 L.

I don't think Brazilian is an option.

The hubcaps are, along with the bumpers, by @ingo's former posts probably Mexican. @electra225; If you mean the flow-through vents (Zwangsentlüftung) the 1200L would have them (1977 brochure). If you mean the vents in the engine lid, with the optional 1.6 engine they were present, but with the 1.2 engine there was no need for them. Until the Mexican Beetles arrived, then with the vents.

But the one sure thing is the molding on the running board - the 1976 1200 lost that trim, until the Mexican Beetles arrived, again with molding.

There were never Brazilian made Typ1 in Europe.
