Gamer, this might sound rude but what is the purpose of such comment? Is it to raise the post count? If you can identify it as a Chevrolet and you're not sure of the year or model the research would be only a few minutes. Maybe 1-5 minutes for the year and maybe 5-10 minutes more for the model name. After that it just a few seconds to find the model code.
I know you can do better than this, I've seen your identifications on the old jalopys.

All right, I'll do some research. :)

This should be a 51 as it has indicators, in combination with grille. For the model name I'm never sure, I use brochures but maybe they made different brochures for different styles.

Indeed, a 51. To be sure I also check if it's the correct hood badge. We have a few listed with mismatching parts.
I check all the brochures I can find and for 49-52 the models where the Styleline with the 'regular' body and the Fleetline with the fastback body.
If it has side trim it's a De Luxe and without side trim a Special.
Looking at the Cadillac picture I suspect that this is a Styleline 4-Door Sedan, though hard to be sure. The side trim can't be seen in these pictures unfortunately so we have to leave that blank for now.

@atom: I recently got the Standard Catalogue of American cars 1805-1942 and now model searching should be a bit easier. :)

It's a good start, going just by the brochures can be risky as they sometimes shows models that they decide in the last minute to not produce (like some Hudson or Nash brochure I saw) or models they don't show because it came in later in the model year (like 51 Ford Victoria).

The quickest and easiest sources are old NADA guide books. Listed in easy to use, chart form.

Adjusting the light helps to confirm a 4-Door Sedan. 65 years of wear and tear may mean the windscreen surrounding means nothing, otherwise a black surrounding would mean a Special (they also had the stainless steel 'Belt Line' and windscreen divider)

Gamer wrote Standard Catalogue of American cars 1805-1942

Haven't seen it, but I've got its brother Standard Catalogue of Imported cars which is very good at a general level, but at detail level has a lot of unconvincing/approximate/incomplete info, and can bury good info under inconspicuous headings. So I use with caution - not the complete and/or definitive reference I'd hoped it would provide.

/vehicle.php?id=1111430 shows the side trim of a 2103 Deluxe 4-Door Sedan

We can trust it - it's basically the US car bible, especially for anything before the mid-twenties. 5 stars on both Goodreads and Amazon - 1610 pages of pure history.
