Sorry I thought that it was meaning "3rd series". But what does that "3" mean then? -- Last edit: 2007-02-24 22:13:44 |

So was named also into Italian-printed car annuals, and the "3" means just that's a 3rd series of Fulvia Coupè('cause the 1st series Coupè was 1965 to 1970--undependently by engine fitted,1.2,1.3,1.6--and the 2nd series Coupè was 1970 to 1973--1.3,1.6--while the 3rd series Coupè,1973 to 1976,was only 1.3--being the 1.6 reserved only at "works" rally Fulvias) PS Little historic note on name's origins:apart that Fulvia was a name of an ancient consular road of ex-Roman Empire(like Augusta,Artena,Astura,Aprilia,Ardea,Appia,Aurelia,Flavia and Flaminia)in Italy especially(where Fulvia is also a female name almost diffused of Latin origins, that derives by term "fulvus"=blond-haired)the coupè was much appreciated by women(in tamer-powered ones)also(at men-drivers otherwise, the car was likeable not only for be a winning rally car,but also 'cause our name was in contrapposition with another name of woman of other Italian cars, the Giulietta and Giulia of Alfa Romeo, cars that with similar names evokes a beautiful woman too) |
