Erreur...il s' agit d' une ancienne 1400 et non d' une 1100 |

This is not a 1400 but a Fiat 1100 of 1957.It still had the front suicide doors .This unit is probably a commercial type 1100-1 with the raised roof. |

I agree on that, I´ve seen another similar 1100 with raised roof. |

Here it is. It seems to be riding on a wider and heavier chassis than the original 1100. It looks like it could even be a four wheel drive. Do you know more about these pilou? |

The 1100-1 commercial was available as a closed van as this one or as a pick-up.Thet were not four wheel drives.I have no details on the chassis , but motorisation was the same as on the 1100 berlinas. |

The wheel track on these models may have been widened as shown by the fender extensions. But will need to find technical information comparing with the standard 1100. |

For example, the engine is the same 103-coded 1089cc. of 1953-1956 Fiat 1100-103 PS was replaced in 1957 circa by the 1100T(=Trasporto=transport)with forward control-cab and same engine PS BTW,the exact denomination of previous model was 1100-103I(=Industriale?=industrial),not 1100-103-1 |

That's a 1100-103I Furgone(van),transformed in minibus for Carabinieri Corps(Italian Gendarmery),maybe bodied by Savio or Fissore into'50s |

This will be 1100 I - not "1". the letter "I" is from Industriale. |
◊ 2009-07-03 17:17 |
Indeed "I". And Giardiniera was also part of the name for this version, like http://www.zuckerfabrik24.de/fiat/pics4/1100mip4.jpg |

As dynamike said, it's a 1100-103 I giardiniera, built from Fiat (no other coachbuilder); |
