What's that car on the right? Looks very odd Any guess? New Jersey plate by the way -- Last edit: 2007-06-05 10:38:32 |

I believe the car to the right is an older model Toyota Celica. |

Indeed. A 1982-85 version. |

I just saw the movie and this is an odd car. It had the trunk of a 1992 but the grill of a 1993-1994. And it was the same car, it wasn't that they used two different cars. My best guess is that either the trunk door or the hood/grill are replacement parts. So it's anywhere between a 1992, 1993, or 1994. |

Here is a page for the Celica: /vehicle.php?id=139548 -- Last edit: 2007-11-21 00:42:43 |

I think that the Crown Victoria is a 1993-1994 with a replacement 1992 trunk. That's the most likely possibility. But I can't say that for sure. |

That is not a New Jersey plate on that Celica. It is a plate made up by the movie prop people to represent the made up name of the city/town/state that the movie is set in. The movie was shot in the L.A. area. Any time the camera captured a license plate this weird movie prop plate was seen for a good portion of the film. But some of the scenes they forgot to put the movie prop plates on and you can clearly see California plates. Oh well, this was a low budget film. It was an incredible movie. It had some absouletly outragous comic situations. A must see for anybody into high school comedies. |

Possibly, although I'd think it's more likely to be a '92 with the front clip replaced. Front damage is a little more likely than damage to the trunklid. I thought the wheelcovers might be something of an indicator for a second, but it turns out Ford offered these hubcaps on the Crown vic from 1988 to 2002. Nuts. -- Last edit: 2007-11-21 05:38:19 |

Front damage is indeed more likely, but we'll never really know, I guess. The wheelcovers from 1998-2002 were slightly of a different size, but same thing, basically. |

This car had it coming obviously (the explosion scene). No offense to Ford fans. -- Last edit: 2007-12-31 00:33:38 |

I didn't think that anyone one would actually respond to that. I thought that since people like you and me who like Fords (I don't really have a favorite car company but Ford is awesome) would think that i was insulting them. |

Take a closer look at the shape of the speedometer needle base in one of those pics. This car is a 93-94. The 92 needle's base has a rectangular oval shape to it. the 93+ years were circle in shape, like the one in question. gza069@hotmail.com |
