Fiorino 1st gen.(based on Brazilian 147),1049 cc.gasoline or 1297 cc. Diesel(only for export markets' engine)or alcohool-fueled(overall destined at Brazilian market only) With that nose(identical at contemporary Fiorino Diesel)lasted in production thru 1980 to 1982 in Brazil (in Europe--and Italy--that front end on Fiorino vans coincides with the intro.of Diesel engine during 1982 Summer also on van version--before 1982,European Fiorino vans--made by Fiat in Italy, not still in Brazil--shown still the nose of 1977 to 1981 127 3a serie and still gifted of gasoline engines only--903 cc.,later 1048 cc.since 1979 beginning) |

Mi spiace, ma non ho capito bene... Vuoi dire que questa Fiorino è dall'anno 1980, perché è del tipo brasiliano 147, no? -- Last edit: 2007-06-04 00:09:52 |

It needs a particularly explication,I see: Those the facts: --The Fiorino series debuts at end of 1977 at Frankfurt M.S.(as 1978 m.y.novelty)on the basis of recently-launched(at times)127 3a serie(one body--van--and engine--903 cc.--available at debut);only since 1979 was started production in Brazil, but only as pick-up(vans comes later)and no named Fiorino still(1st Brazilian name was Fiat 147 Pick-up,based on the shorter floorpan of 1977 147,of which retains also same engine,1048 cc.--that in the same year came fitted also on Italian-made Fiorino vans) --In 1981,Fiat Automoveìs starts production of Fiorino in van version also in Brazil --In 1982,Fiat introduces in Europe the Fiorino Diesel van with the same powerplant of Fiorino Pick-up D;given that Diesel types are reserved exclusively at export(like in Europe),Brazilians adopt for that version not the slant-forward grille of 127 Diesel, but the same nose of basic pick-up(since that time, ends also to be produced 127 3a serie-based Italian-made Fiorino vans, that never had fitted that Diesel powerplant before),like the one shown in the movie(but that body was given also at gasoline-fueled Fiorino vans) --That confusion ends in 1984,when all Fiorino vans adopt(both gasoline and diesel-fueled)the 5-bars logo grille of newborn 1983(ex-147)Spazio series(with that nose will be marketed until 1986)replaced then since 1987 by new Fiorinos based now on Brazilian Elba(BR-Uno wagon)floorpan...but,that's another story... |

Thanks, DatsunZ! So this one can be listed as a 1982 Fiat Fiorino Diesel, right? |

And there is a new problem: Origin is Italy, production is Brasil, made for Europe... |

It needs a ISO oval"made for EU",guess('cause in Brazil Fiorino vans with Diesel engines don't were marketed, prefering while as alternative at 1048 cc.gasoline unit on that market, the alcohool-fueled 1297 cc.--from that unit derives the Diesel powerplant of same capacity reserved at European market Fiorino vans--and pick-ups) |
