My next question, for mainly EU members, is did the specific motors carry their own wheels ? Here in the states the 320, 430 and 55 AMG all carried their own wheels which make the determination easy for us. @mystery man I know you heavily research the G-Klasse do you have any information for me on the 1st generation ML? I am mainly trying to pinpoint alloys pertaining to each motor/configuration. Thank you! Above example is a 2002-2005 by the updated front bumper and mirrors. Not necessarily built in the USA. Graz production ended in 2002 (could affect early 2003 MYs as I have to find an exact date production ceased). |

@dhill_cb7 Have a look to https://oudemercedesbrochures.nl/W163_ML.html A bunch of international W163 brochures and press material, quite nice stuff. I think some alloys are specific to one, some to two engines and others were special equipment. Another question: IMO, the official name was M-Klasse, but with the engine number, it was called ML xxx. So I think we have to rename the ones without engine number to M-Klasse, what do you think? The reason for this problem is that you don't get confused with the BMW M-models... |

Doesn't sound a bad idea to me  usually it was advertised here as "Classe M" too IIRC..Never realized that could be the reason for which it was badged as ML  |

honestly i always asked myself why it was ML instead of M-Klasse it would have some sense if there was a M, a ML and a MLK for example ( like the G ) but its not the case called Classe M here too ( unless you ask for the english version.. ) -- Last edit: 2022-01-09 18:43:59 |
