This has to be a 1982 because newer years in the same body style after 1979 had chrome letters that said F O R D on the hood. The grille had no emblem on it.Also as the years changed the marker lights had different shades. -- Last edit: 2007-05-17 03:20:35 |

I had a an 1982 Ford f-250. It didn't have the Ford emblem on the grille. I'd say this truck is newer, like an 83' or an 84'. |

My family and I were freaking out when we saw this movie and he rounded a corner and almost lost his camper. It was somethin' else. Anyone else remember that? It was kinda funny too. That camper leans hard to the right, then left, then right again slightly then it finally settles back in the Ford's bed. I saw a guy whip around a parking lot with a Ford and camper and it did the same thing. It was quite a frightening sight. |

Basically they are 1982/86 version. But if anyone can spot the difference between those years, please let us know what are they and the administrator can update these accordingly. -- Last edit: 2009-05-29 22:54:44 |

I've had a few of these f150's, f250's ect, My bet is it's a 1984 model, in one of the early scene's in the movie you can see the truck is an automatic too |

I will never get over how much I love this truck! I wish it did not get destroyed though. |
◊ 2020-12-24 06:15 |
Yeah strange though, you never see ahy actual damage to the Truck itself, just the Camper |

Are there any driver’s side shots? The badge appears present. |

It didn't get destroyed I think. Right at the end when the gang comes up to the destroyed farm, this truck, the van, and the "Barn Burner" are all present from what I remember. I could be wrong though, somebody who has this movie should confirm this. |

They do show it getting "destroyed" at the Drive-in, a station wagon magically flies through the air, crashes into the hanger and slams right into the side of the camper. Shoves the whole truck sideways, and the driver's side wheels drop down into the service pit the crew are taking shelter in. Story wise, Truck probably would have been fine once a wrecker pulled it from the pit, but they had to rush away to Aunt Meg. IRL wise, I doubt the truck was harmed, that whole scene looks like it was done with cables, special effects, and CGI. I thought I remembered seeing it in the very next scene in Wakita unharmed, and at the very end of the movie too. But It was the Blue Chevy with the white topper and amber rotator light bar that's still there. |

If you look very closely, you can see they have brophy mounts holding the camper in. They freakin' suck for this reason. My Dad actually lost an entire camper because the wind ripped it and those brophy mounts right out of the bed of his brand new Ford truck (Gotta love Wyoming wind). But I also noticed in the later scene, you can see the camper isn't sitting in the be correctly anymore after that. |
