Whatever the model is, it's gotta be from 1951 with that grille.

1951, yes.
Champion vs Commander? Impossible to determine at this angle. The series nameplates were on the other side of the grille and the flush hood emblem is not visible.
Bumper guards are non-stock.

Thanks. Those extra shots confirm this is indeed a Champion. Note absence of a trunk lid V-8 ornament.

Can you guess what movie introduced me to Studebakers?

Hopefully not that Muppet movie.

Why not?

Because Fozzie Bear, the Muppets' unfunny comedian and resident numskull drove a Studebaker from this era in the film.

That's what introduced me to Studebakers. I liked the Muppet Movie!

Could always be worse, he could have said "OC & Stiggs"

Surprised it's not listed here.

There could be a suggestion for an academic dissertation here. "A Study of Makes of Automobile Driven by Losers in the Cinematic Genre 1896 to the Present."

Start with Laurel and Hardy's Model T and work outwards.

BTW, I am not knocking the Muppet Movie, poor old Fozzie or the Studebaker, merely illustrating that an inference could be drawn.

Not knocking the Muppet Movie as a movie. Just didn't like what they did to the Studebaker.
After all, I'm a purest.
