 I did some careful research that took some time and finally discovered that the Scrambler was actually a heavily modified 1982 Dodge Ramcharger despite its resemblance to a Jeep CJ. It was further modified and used in several TV shows including an episode of Knightrider. It was retired and stored outside where it deteriorated and was scrapped quite a few years ago.

EDIT- The scrambler was also the Juggernaut that demolished KITT at the end of Knightrider season 3.
