A polarizing film with it's depiction of the mentally-handicapped being both praised and condemned by various sources. Based on the nonfiction book of the same name with the names of the characters being those of real people. The poetry written by Sean Cassidy's character was written by the real-life Roger Myers! Fair warning, the R-word along with it's variations are used 35 times as this was the accepted term for people with mental disabilities in 1979. Oh how times have changed! Airdate: April 13th, 1979 |
