GodzillaFan54 ◊ 2025-11-12 05:06	1975 made-for-TV biopic about Olympic athlete and pro golfer Babe Didrikson Zaharias, depicting her strive for the Olympics, subsequent golf career, and finally her battle with colon cancer. She won two gold medals and one silver in track and field at the 1932 Los Angeles Summer Olympics and later became a professional golfer and the first female golf celebrity in the United States, winning 41 LPGA Tours and 10 LPGA major championships as well as being the first American to win the British Ladies Amateur. By 1950, she had won every single golf title available. To this day, Didrikson is the only track and field athlete to win individual Olympic medals in separate running, throwing, and jumping events. She was diagnosed with colon cancer in 1953 which sadly ended up claiming her life in 1956 at only 45 years old. So many of the athletes I've done biopics on died of cancer Starring Susan Clark as Babe Zaharias and Alex Karras as her husband George, both of whom are excellent together. Slim Pickens also has a minor role, always great to see him.
