This movie, along with Cry Rape! the prior year, brought nationwide attention to and resulted in the massive reform needed to the court system towards sex offenders and their victims, becoming NBC's highest rated TV movie at that point. This movie was critically acclaimed, leading to numerous rebroadcasts. This all in no small part due to the stellar performance of lead actress Elizabeth Montgomery, best known to TV audiences at the time for her acclaimed role as Samantha Stephens on the hit sit-com Bewitched, which had aired it's series finale just under two years prior to this movie's airdate. Quite a pity that such an impactful film has an grainy low-resolution VHS rip as it's online representation. Airdate: February 20th, 1974 |
