 I really hate fifties and sixties' humor. The god awful "jolly silly prewar times" movies with their anachronistic jet age gel haircuts, plasticky Technicolor and aluminum furniture. The horribly unfunny cold war jokes that were infinitely improved on in the 80s. I'm glad that at least the prewar age began to be taken more seriously from the mid-70s onward.

 I think Gamer means US comedies, same with US music of the sixties, the sort of Neil Sedaka style that left them wide open for a British invasion... You don't have to jump to the 80s however. Play It Again Sam from 1972 is one of the best Woody Allen films.
