A long story is behind this film.
Filmed in Poland in the 1967 (pics in sephia and green are from the 60's), was banned by censors for a very long time, and only few people saw it. After 14 years, director Skolimowski (who already since 10 years worked abroad), got the phone from Warsaw with info. that now it would be possible to show his old film from the 1960's in the cinemas. Skolimowski, happy with that, made in the 1981, 15 min. long prologue (color pics), which has been added to the old material from the 1967.
In such form the film finally had its premiere in Warsaw, in saturday of 12 december 1981... Unfortunately it was again "rather" fate date for the filmmaker. In the night after the premiere, from the 12 to 13 december, unexpectedly in Poland the martial law began. For the showing to the larger public, film had to wait another 4 years, to the 1985 (though this time the filmed in 1981 "15 minutes" was deleted).

In the part from the early 80's we can also see references to other films made in the same time or a little bit later:
A Beirut film set of the Volker Schlöndorff's "Die Fälschung", where Skolimowski played a role.
