Film noir, but only of the B-movie kind, rather packed with action, not uninteresting in its premices, but with an underwritten screenplay, somehow puzzling in terms of characters development: the bad guy is actually playing such a good guy in the first half that he has to lie to himself like crazy, when we think of it afterwards, and the stubborn cop —Hayden— is… well, tough verging to psycho all along. About Gloria Grahame, in a fashion à la The Big Heat, she ends the movie conveniently loaded with lead. (Don't roam I spoiled it, a 7-year old kid would have guessed it right as soon as she appears.)

The cars… Many, much more than I uploaded. But most are one-star, the pics are dark and blurry, and above all, the available copy is a 4:3 pan & scan of the 1.85:1 original. A mess.
