Story of creation of Reserve Police formation to replace "real" Police who enlisted for military service. Featured in this 2007 compilation DVD "On The Beat - The British Policeman 1900-1984", which in turn was reissued by Atlas Editions a couple of years ago as a free gift for subscribers to their "Best of British Police Cars" partwork mail order series of Vanguards-based 1:43 diecasts. Also apparently on BFI DVD compilation 'If War Should Come: The GPO Film Unit Collection Vol3' according to this.

The toys look like early Dinky models to me.

Confirmed

and a better quality copy. Timings are different by a few seconds, but the same film. Have replaced some captures but as most entries already identified I haven't done a full update.

johnfromStaffs wrote I don't see that a successful identification can result from this view. It could be any one of the late 20s sporting makes, Sunbeam, Bentley, Lagonda, Invicta. I suspect that it may be a three litre Bentley with two seater plus dickey bodywork, but there's no way to prove it.

Any better?? Looks like GX series plate = 1932. Any chance of being a Met Bentley pool car like this one??
