 Opening credits were likely remade years later to promote Marcello Mastroianni as the star of the film. It was the co-operation with Sophia Loren starting in 1954, that made him famous.

Photographs were taken in via Veneto in Rome sometime around 1963. I spotted a 63 Chrysler and a 61 Bonneville among others.
