If you think this is a biopic of Enrico Caruso, this should set you straight: Indeed, you're better off reading the wikipedia page about Caruso with his greatest hits playing in the background. This movie is just a lavish showcase for Mario Lanza who happens to be referred to as Enrico Caruso between all the arias... |

I was more thinking David Caruso... |

^ The only "great" thing about David Caruso is his career: that he had any is one of the great mysteries of the universe. 🙄 |

I found him insufferable in NYPD Blue, thankfully he was only in the first season and the start of the second. |

^ Same here. I managed to sit through only a handful of "NYPD Blue" episodes and he's usually the first reason to come to mind as to why. But there are other reasons, too: - I saw "Homicide: Life on the Street" first (watching "NYPD Blue" after it was like going back to flying economy class after flying first class); - a hopelessly moody, pouting, unlikable cast of characters, particularly that of Dennis Franz, I simply could not warm up to (as opposed to the characters on "Homicide: Life on the Street" who won me over instantly); - our TV gave me the impression it aired the episodes out of order (in one episode a mobster was blown away while in witness protection, but in the next episode he only just entered that same witness protection...). |

^ fun fact after CSI Miami, Caruso never worked again either he didn't get roles or after so many seasons he got enough money not to bother anymore CSI Miami lasted 10 seasons , ended in 2012 -- Last edit: 2024-12-01 14:53:57 |

He was fairly decent in Hudson Hawk, though largely because his character has no spoken lines of dialogue and communicates exclusively through pre-printed index cards. |
