Directed by French-born Robert Florey, a rather good film noir.

With John Payne as Eddie, the good one, and Sonny Tufts as Vince, the very mean mob boss.

Ahh, the famous Acme Semaphore traffic signal lights. The first two thumbnails has an optional bell affixed on the signal.

Here is the actual Daves original Acme in someone's collection.
