I can recognise the DB livery, so I imagine all the German viewers would as well. ![]() P.S. According to the IMDB, there were two other Edgar Wallace TV movies made at the same time. It seems they were filmed in 1998 but not shown until 2002. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0315538/trivia -- Last edit: 2007-03-08 02:25:56 |

In the GDR this loco had the nickname "Taigatrommel" : "taiga-drum" They were very loud. In the early 90ies I worked in the town Hannover, close to the main train station - and very close to track 13, where all trains from the East (ex-GDR, Poland, Russia) were arriving. When such a Taigatrommel was passing, you had a real earthquake-feeling. Everything was vibrating, the coffee-cup were ringing and you had to stop phone-calls. |

DR had probably the biggest number of these monsters, as I've heard in their homeland they were nearly unknown. Also CSD had a couple of them for a while, but they stated that they don't need so big diesel locomotives and have sold them (or gave back to USSR). |
