Looks as if this time they filmed all of it in Britain. :)

I can recognise the DB livery, so I imagine all the German viewers would as well. :)

P.S. According to the IMDB, there were two other Edgar Wallace TV movies made at the same time. It seems they were filmed in 1998 but not shown until 2002.

Train number 232 518-1 in the actuell DB design. In the movie is the same train with older GDR paint.

The loco is a russian 'Ludmilla', in the eastern block every boy had a H0 model of it by Piko (in BR130 version) - me too. :p

In the GDR this loco had the nickname "Taigatrommel" : "taiga-drum"
They were very loud. In the early 90ies I worked in the town Hannover, close to the main train station - and very close to track 13, where all trains from the East (ex-GDR, Poland, Russia) were arriving. When such a Taigatrommel was passing, you had a real earthquake-feeling. Everything was vibrating, the coffee-cup were ringing and you had to stop phone-calls.

DR had probably the biggest number of these monsters, as I've heard in their homeland they were nearly unknown. Also CSD had a couple of them for a while, but they stated that they don't need so big diesel locomotives and have sold them (or gave back to USSR).
