The creators, CyberAgent and DMM didn't want this as another idol anime, and I'd agree with that, since there's already a lot of idol animes through the years such as "one of the OGs before Love Live! was a thing", The iDOLM@STER. Besides, PuraOre! is a newcormer and they just got started, so it takes time to get some attention among many weebs, there's even still no sign of news for another season or a movie adaption yet. And speaking of Love Live!, typical for that "anime character design similarities" trend, I'm 99% obviously that LL! people who seeing the main girl of this show that goes by the name of Manaka Mizusawa, thinks she looks a lot like the leader of Aqours, Chika Takami (both were orange-haired, have pink eyes, cheerful and positive, same height, and their family owns an inn).
