To me, one of the more amazing parts of this film is the snarling engine sound (most likely dubbed in) as the BMW E34 drifts sideways entering onto the ringroad running along the River Seine near the beginning of the 2nd chase. The sound just emphasizes some great car control and driving that obviously took place.

I also added some behind the scenes pictures of some of the cars used in the making of the film: /vehicle_1896-BMW-535i-E34-1991.html

Easily the best chase movie I've ever seen. I see several reruns just to see the chases. :-)

Well I just tend to rewatch the chases scenes on their own, I've only seen the film a couple of times, although I think it's quite underrated, critics didn't seem to give it that much praise apart from the car chases, but it has a great cast, and it's quite a good espionage thriller. I must watch it again sometime.

Even though there are no American made cars used in any chase scenes this is one of my favorite chase movies. It can't top White Lightning, Vanishing Point or The Blues Brothers but its still a pretty bitchin' movie.

Antp, I have this movie in HD... can I replace your pictures?

I wanted to do these myself (as this movie is kind of symbolic: it is the first one for which I provided pics! when I was not admin yet) but unfortunately I only have the DVD :/
So I have no other choice, yes you can replace the pics :D
I just ask as usual to keep the same scenes, and if possible if you add vehicles also add the time-tags.

Don't worry... I'll respect all your angles ;)

But I have seen that lots of thumbs are gone... I have to replace also the thumbs or you can rehabilitate they?

Why is this so important? For example with the Audi S8 I think there are better moments to take captures from.

If I selected that pic, I guess it was the one that I prefered...
I could ask the same to you: what would it be important to chose another one :p

About thumbnail images, all seem on same server, maybe wait one or two days to see if they come back.

For not ruin all your work, IMHO.

This is the reason for which I'm get angry when Stronghold has changed my pics in Mercury Rising ;)

Everybody may have different opinion about "best pic", cf /vehicle_9669-SAAB-900-Cabrio-1987.html and my comment at the end of the page

The way I see it, since the images are being replaced your work is gone anyway except you get acknowledged in the contributors section.

BTW, I have just see that all your pics are gone :o Better wait some days and hope that is just a momentarily collapsed server :/

If thumbnail images do not come back, I'll at least recover those with related comments, like those of the XM. Others are probably less important.

So many times I've done films where for whatever reason the previous contributor chose a still where the view of the car was nowhere near as good as other moments in the film.

Depends who made captures and when. Those made long time ago were sometimes taken more or less randomly in the movie.
But now when I watch a movie I do several captures of each car, sometimes frame by frame to get the best shot, so I really chose the "best one".

I think the bike that the BMW crashes into during the chase should be added. Why is it not listed btw? Even if it is blurred and may be hard to identify, it still has a role...
