Excellent Ken Loach-style film mainly set in Bolsover (Derbyshire) with some bits in Sheffield. A slow burner for first half hour of miserable lives scraping sad existences but then it grabs you and does not let go. Amusing paradox that young Shaun is a 6ft 15 year old with a local accent and 20 years later older Shaun is fairly small Robert Carlyle with a Glasgow accent. When I watched this onscreen, it looked good quality, but disappointed with captures - too fuzzy to read some plates for instance.
