![]() According to that veritable cesspool of misinformation we love to hate as IMDb (they can't even get the title right!), once upon a time Alex Cox made a short-ish 55-minute movie for the BBC which apparently aired as part of their series Screenplay in 1992 (listed here). Eventually, Cox secured additional funds and expanded the effort into a feature. Where and how it premiered is anyone's guess. IMDb, brilliant as it is, lists this as an episode of a 1992 Spanish(?) TV series and gives the same air date (Aug 5th 1992) for both versions even though that obviously doesn't make sense. They also suggest this "episode" was shown at the Tokyo International Film Festival on October 2, 1996. This date actually matches the copyright year on the movie itself which is 1996. I'm inclined to believe the copyright year since Miguel Sandoval clearly looks years have passed between his original and additional footage, and it's not clever makeup. It also makes sense for the expanded version to premiere in Japan since the additional funds were apparently provided by Japanese investors. They way I see it is this: - 55-minute version premieres on the BBC in 1992 (see link above); - same version airs in Spain in 1993 (IMDb page linked from this page); - the expanded 86-minute version is assembled and premiered in Japan in 1996 (no IMDb page). Make of this what you will. I listed this as a movie, but you can of course change it to whatever you think is the best fit. Filmed in Mexico City of all places, and Cox made it look like you'll never see it again: ![]() A couple of backgroundmobiles: ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2023-10-31 12:04:39 |
