English speakers would probably pronounce Haeundae pretty much the same as Hyundai - are the words connected? Any product placement? |

Haeundae is a seaside area in Busan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haeundae-gu The Korean pronunciation of Hyundai, which Hyundai ads in the UK used for a few years, is two syllables - "hyun" followed by "day". -- Last edit: 2012-06-02 13:42:27 |

Hyundai ran an ad a couple years ago in the US saying that Hyundai rhymed with Sunday. -- Last edit: 2012-06-02 20:34:18 |

Years ago I remember hearing someone on TV rhyme Hyundai with Sunday, but the H was much heavier than an English H, more like a Scottish/Polish ch. |
