Revisited. The Toyota Tercel Wagon, only seen in the deleted scenes, seems to be Crumb's car.

R. Crumb was horrified by the result, but it's endlessly fascinating. I've been thinking about it and analyzing it for 20 years. Particularly Charles, approaching 50, suicidal, at home with the oedipal mother. It's a male Grey Gardens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stDhBFwRbI0

Not a fan of Crumb, I prefer the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers.

Hergé is much better than any of that stuff. It's what the boomers found shocking but it's completely dead now. Crumb is well aware of this.

I don't think you can begin to compare Hergé to either Crumb or Shelton. One is Franco-Belgian ligne claire (which actually was mostly Bob de Moor's work, Hergé only drew very basic art, which is why the 1985 Tintin Citroen calendar looks so "real") the others are 60s/70s American underground comics.
