 the film is named "Kings of Speed" - but none Rootes-crap is participating. Why?
@cl82: do you have an idea?

Probably because they were rather the "Kings of total mechanical breakdown and self-destruction", I suppose. The only thing that they had in common with speed as such was that something always went tragically wrong very, very quickly. At least that's what JfS told me..

They could not agree licensing arrangements with Hawkwind.

Alvis made a Speed Twenty and a Speed Twenty Five.
Bentley made a Speed Six.
Rover made a Speed Twenty.

Rootes never made a Speed anything.

Thank you for your good wishes.

As I wobble gently into my eighth decade of life I also thank the excellent services of the N.H.S. and whatever higher being may have helped that I am still wobbling. My recent treatment must have cost about ú100,000 (two multi hour operations and a total of ten weeks in hospital). Being a Brit sometimes has its good points.

Happy Birthday jfs!

Agreed about the value of the NHS jfs, it is also I think having its own 70th birthday (in July?) so celebrations all round.
