Ford brand show with Cadillacs sneaking in:

I've been watching several episodes of this program being broadcast on the Encore cable channel. The show obviously had an arrangement with or sponsorship by Ford, since there are dozens of new (early 60s) Fords, Mercurys, Falcons, and Comets around, as well as the occasional Lincoln. No complaint here, but I've seen two episodes so far where Cadillacs appear prominently (not background vehicles), and I don't understand why they didn't use Lincolns instead, when the brand consistency is so obvious with all the other cars used.

Does anyone have thoughts on why this would occur, or think of other examples where a similar brand tie-in was so visibly breeched?

This show has car-watching opportunities for afficionados of those years, as well as for catching early appearances of stars-to-be.

I think Mercury was the sponsor
