The first half of the film takes place at Culver city (Carrell speedway) and the second half at Indianopolis. (Lot's of "Specials" around in those days .. Lots of race-cars to add ...so should take us closer to 900 vehicle makers.!!)..as there are so many race-cars..I've also listed their numbers in the 'Extra information' section ...just to make it easier for me to sort All of them out.! ;)

Yeah, but...

Isn't LeMans one of these weird tracks where you have to turn right sometimes?

Some of the Indy cars are from 1949 race though can't match them all from gallery photos. Others may be 1948, but the unknowns do not match there either.

all the cars listed as "Offy" aren't they Offenhauser ?

and frankly their "model" name should be producer as that is the chassis
