That is not a trailer, it has its own electric power and the milkman walked in front, controlling it through a joystick handle.

The General Post Office had lots as well. You could tell they weren’t milk floats because they had filled in sides and were painted red.

 The registration plate indicates it was a self-powered vehicle, not needed if pulled by horse/pony/person or anything else with legs. But as jfs says, that doesn't have to mean the driver sat on it. CAN 359(?) was West Ham, late 1947.
