Story of an 83 year old woman who in a last defiant gesture before being put in an old folks home decides to climb Suilven in the NW Highlands. Very predictable fluffy film, rescued to some extent by Sheila Hancock in lead role and the scenery. Not as good as Sheila's other film where she plays a cranky old biddy on a final pilgrimage to very remote bits of Northern Scotland- the excellent Hold Back the Night - but it ticks lots of Sunday-night-on the-sofa-with-a-mug-of-cocoa boxes and my sister thought it was wonderful. Filmed mainly on Suilven itself and nearby in Lochinver; early part in London and there's a brief bit in Inverness. Toads road sign (genuine) |
