A unique movie, as it was made not in post-war Poland overrun by Soviets, but by Polish Armed Forces in the West. This means it's true to pre-war Poland, no other movie from that period tells you not only about Nazi invasion, but Soviet as well, Poles being kicked out of their homes and deported to Siberia into forced labor camps etc.
The main story is interspersed with documentary clips from authentic news reels and propaganda movies (like German "Kampfgeschwader Lützow" with faked battle scenes from September 1939 in Poland); the leading actress is a pre-war star who actually went through the same hell as the characters in the movie[!], the protagonist's girl in noone else but the wife of gen. W.Anders, commander of the 2nd Polish Corps fighting in Italy - it all adds to the realism of the war drama.

As said by Rola, most of the aircraft are from Kampfgeschwader Lützow. It's very interesting to see how the same shot say the opposite thing !
The whole set of aircraft are listed there : http://impdb.org/index.php?title=Wielka_Droga
