The cars match with the locations except for the UK and Italy, which I think were doubling for Russia (you can see a police Lada Niva at the Opel Omega page. |

Here's an article about the filming locations: Link to "www.thelocationguide.com" Some of the scenes set in "Sokovia" (the fictional eastern European country) were filmed on a set at Hendon Police College. There's a photo of the Hendon set with a wrecked BMW, an Ikarus 2xx and a tram. P.S. Trying to figure out the truck that chases the Jankel in the very beginning of the opening scene. Thought it might be a Jankel, too, but the square headlights don't match the Jankel or the Land Rover Defender Wolf. It's in this image: http://www.jankel.com/media/images/SKB1000_739.jpg There's also a truck that Iron Man flies through while infiltrating the base in the beginning that I can't seem to identify. There is a one of a kind tank in this movie, the Centurion MMWR (MilliMeter-Wave Radar), a highly modified Centurion made to look like a Soviet tank for missile training. It appears very briefly in the background of the opening scene, portraying a destroyed Hydra tank in the woods. I submitted an entry for it but it was rejected by imcdb. There is only one behind the scenes photo of it that I can find. Link to "media.comicbook.com" If anyone happens to know what happened to it after filming was done I'd like to know. It was originally on display at the Bovington Tank Museum, who decided they didn't want it and sent it to be scrapped, only for the scrapper to sell it to the movie makers, and it hasn't been seen since. |
