Some of these episodes can be found on Youtube, and I highly recommend watching them. British documentary maker Louis Theroux investigates unusual subcultures in America, such as the pornographic movie industry, professionial wrestling and white supremacist organisations, he also sometimes looks at subcultures elsewhere in the world, such as the mail-order bride industry in Thailand and white South African nationalists. Using his unique blend of affability and faux-naivity Louis gets his subjects to lower their guard and let him into their world, exposing their true nature for the camera. These episodes are very funny in places but also fascinating and sometimes slightly frightening, Louis really comes across some bizarre people during his travels

Needs some updating, the best ones were later. "Most Hated Family in America" f.e.

What's the one where he sings "Karma Chameleon" to a bunch of religious freaks?

My favourite is the homophobic gun nut that liked "Are you Being Served?"
- "But what about Mr. Humphries??"
- "I tend to ignore that part."

That's separate from this series. I only added some of the Weird Weekends episodes because only half of them of them were released on DVD, although now you can watch just about all of them on various video sites (including Youtube). I may add some more, particularly the Demolition Derby one.

He was a Neo-Nazi, not a gun nut. Hilarious scene though.

There's videos of the episodes missing from the DVDs on Youtube and sites like Veoh. But quality isn't that good (videos look like they've been taped off TV anyway). Would I be likely to get better quality downloading from a torrents site? Does downloading Youtube videos make them any better?

The '1963 Studebaker Avanti' is in fact a Mercury Cougar from the eighties. So probably not worth listing for what is visible.

I agree. Is that all you're going to add, bgp1? Are you not going to add the cars that were actually used in that episode? (looked like the Demolition Derby one)

G-MANN - I was under the impression that background vehicles weren't allowed in documentaries on this site?

I hadn't seen your comment but I'll answer it now - this was added well before non-admins could add contributions onto the site (they had to post the pictures onto the forum and admins had to make the pages) and we didn't have so many non-fiction things being added, so there were less restrictions (as long as cars were well visible or somehow related to the program)
