And why do all the vehicles’ look burnt and vandalized? What was the movie about?

They just look quite old actually, I think. Which would be realistic for a movie set in a future were the humanity is declining.

 Changing the lights and grilles isn't going to fool anyone it's twenty years in the future! same for the island. I mean, what the hell is that CX all about?

Best thing to do is take a recent car and make it look old, like the Avantime and the Multipla.
But taking an already old car is strange.
Except if they target mostly US audience: any non-imported European car may look futuristic :D

Indeed. Even a Lada 2112 could be passed off as a Car of the Future. :)

The odd thing is that Jasper is a bit of an old fart and the kind of man who might have a classic car, so they could have used a CX and not messed around with it at all.

Who knows? ...the Bentleys, and all kind of ultra luxury cars, are still immaculate! Rich are more and more rich, Poors are more and more poors...exactly the programm which is going on with nowadays ultra capitalism. Be the Peoples understand and wake up! ;)
