Is this Shelburne Falls?

Looks like this movie is set in the late 80's or early 90's...

After reading imdb.com message boards, it's set in 1987.

Yep.

Here's a nice piece about a one of kind Opel Senator in the USA that is seen very shortly in this movie.
(parking lot scene 06:40, top right next to the white Town Car)

^As background as it is, it'd be neat to have a page for it.

The vehicle pic and info I uploaded is still awaiting approval by the IMCDB staff...

Is it really one of these? It's too background anyway.

I read this article before and IIRC it's the only Opel Senator in the US

walter IT

If so, it could be listed.
But is it really a Senator? It's visible here /vehicle_699012-Lincoln-Town-Car-1988.html

It's 100% correct, unfortunately the IMCDB staff won't approve it as an official vehicle post.
I've tried twice now to get it posted and both times the request was rejected with no reason given. :??:

Here are the specs I entered:

I removed the "img" tags as the pic is so large, it destroys the page layout.

It was refused because if you do not know it is a so rare car, it appears not worth listing.
As Walter said, if it is really that, it could be listed... but is it sure?

Yes, it is 100% the correct vehicle, the story is well known within the Opel community.

Then you could submit one more time the pic :D For special cases like that it is better to first make a comment on the movie page to explain the case ;)

The submitted picture was the same as the Lincoln Town Car one.

Which one is it there?
(and isn't there some reference forum/site, set photo, etc.?)

It is this one:

I think that the picture was refused because it was just a duplicate of the Town Car picture, the car is way too background and the picture was credited under breurtiehakkers's name although it was my own capture.

The article mentioning the car was: Link to "hooniverse.com"

Well due to the special nature of the car, I think we should list it.
There isn't another scene that could make the car a little more visible?
Even with that pic it is still worth having. Like for car with known owners.

Ok, I'll try one more time, but don't get your hopes up... :/
BTW, I made the screencap myself but since the parking lot scene is one and the same you get one picture with different vehicles.

But the question is: is the car that appear in this shot REALLY this Opel Senator? We can't list it if we're not 100% sure of it.

Yes, 200% correct. I wouldn't mention it if I wasn't absolutely positive!
The car's rear end with the distinctive black spoiler can been seen in the parking lot scene where it's parked in front of the supermarket at the direct right of the white Town Car.
Check it out here:

It looks like the right one.
I validated /vehicle.php?id=700774 then.

A little late, but I can verify that is my 1984 Opel Senator CD. It was used as a background car in a couple of other scenes but that was the only one that made final cut. Good eye to pick it out in the background!
