11-minute road safety film for kids taken from the COI Collection Volume Four: Stop! Look! Listen! 2-DVD set. Has imdb page (hoorah!) which is just as well because I can't find online copy - not even youtube. Introduced by a 1960s screen goddess who will be very familiar to anybody who watched kids BBC TV in 1960s to 1980s for her stint on Blue Peter. She promotes the Green Cross Code for crossing the road safely. Obviously filmed on a showery day or days - Val keeps the umberella up most of the time, even when it's sunny (presumably for continuity shots). A lot of footage taken on Fortis Green Road, Muswell Hill, north London, identified by Cooksey & Son funeral directors seen in many shots Still there today. But it doesn't have the toy/bike shop next door anymore which had these Ever Ready and (for Sir Admin) Lego signs - "LEGO - the building toy". 07-09 Austin/Morris 1300 GT followed immediately by Honda N360/N600 Some things in local zoo ... which is a convenient excuse for the joke about the bloke who comes home very disappointed from a zoo visit and tells his mate that it was rubbish because the only animal was one dog and it was a Shih Tzu. |

Some happy pints consumed in the Clissold Arms in Fortis Green, many years ago now. |
