I was referring to the cut rather than the colour. You have to be really careful with double breasted suits, as you can end up looking like a ventriloquist’s dummy. For business, I used to favour dark single breasted suits by Aquascutum, for more relaxed formality, a blazer, dark blue with brass buttons and teamed with light grey trousers, and for informality a Bentley Drivers Club boiler suit. I own tailored (from Thailand, I'm way too poor for the Savile Row) wollen suits, but they are in the wrong colour. I need a grey suit as it's our PARTY-uniform. It's 3x XL, but still too small (well, China..) For coming slightly back to topic: isn't it funny, that back in the 70ies noone did sweat in the full polyester-clothes? The Aquascutum suit I wear for funerals is now about twenty years old, but still reasonably smart. I wore it for work a couple of days a week for several years. I have another one of their suits in a mid grey checked pattern for going to the races, but as I have lost so much weight it no longer fits properly.
