The film was made after not only one but two big withdrawals of 'big corps' (big corps of their times, Italian first, then Japanese). And racing was not a hobby for the people engaged in grand prix: it was their meal ticket (well, the one their passion made them choose). When Jack fell down and got his back hurt for several weeks, his girl says to the camera "we lost 1000£" (in repairs and racing money). That's what I learn reading this. Side note: We should always (always) give the images their time-tag.

Notez que tous les grands prix (strictement de la saison 69) ne sont pas suivis. Nous n'avons d'images que — du Tourist Trophy (Île de Man, du 7 au 13 juin 1969) — du Dutch TT (Assen, 28 juin 1969) — du GP de Belgique (Spa-Francorchamps, 6 juillet 1969) — du GP d'Allemagne de l'Est (Sachsenring, 13 juillet 1969) — du GP de Tchécoslovaquie (Brno, 20 juillet 1969), le 8ème de la saison — et du GP des Nations (Circuit Dino Ferrari, Imola, 7 septembre 1969) le 11ème et avant-dernier. On a en outre quelques images d'un docu sur Ago. Il y aurait beaucoup à dire, beaucoup à critiquer, du montage et de la thèse un peu frelatée à la musique relativement niaise de Daevid Allen et Gong en mal de camemberts, du recours aux ralentis à l'emploi d'images d'archives de chutes de pilotes, etc. Mais malgré tout, ces 100 minutes sont d'une grande puissance évocatrice et… … Rhâ, putain, poignée dans l'coin ! Et si c'était l'attelage URS de Fath/Kalauch ? Et ça, c'est qui ? Kel Carruthers sur Aermacchi 500 à Spa ? Là, en revanche, je parie que c'est Marty Lunde (Yamaha), le premier Américain à marquer des points en GP et ce sera ici au Sachsenring. J'aurais aimé être sûr qu'ici ou là, l'on trouvât la T100 course de Percy Tait. Bonjour ! Vous êtes qui ? Réponse (quelques jours plus tard) : Billie Nelson (sur Paton en 500, quelques fois en 1969).
