chris40 ◊ 2010-02-16 20:02	IIRC the green livery belonged to BRS Parcels. The green artics would be used for inter-depot traffic, while the front door deliveries would be made by such vehicles as the celebrated Austin 'Noddy Van': http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C134143/

johnfromstaffs ◊ 2017-10-01 12:30	Interested to know what people think of the nationalisation of road transport attempted at this time. As a youngster I watched it all fall apart, the local BRS depot first becoming a privately owned base for trucks, then a garage and filling station and now a housing estate. It always struck me that it was far too fragmented an industry to attempt central control. As far as railways, electricity and water are concerned they should never have been privatised, not so sure about gas though.
dsl ◊ 2017-10-02 01:10	Upgraded copy taken from British Transport Films Volume Five: Off the Beaten Track 2-DVD set; youtube link here. Everything replaced with like-for-like, some new entries where previous comments pics now clear enough for IDs, and some pages de-cluttered of old blurry pics where new ones available. Great footage for anyone interested in dams and hydro-electric schemes in Perthshire - I've visited those shown and the glen roads which were newly built then for construction access are spectacular. Killin railway closed in 1965. Rejects: - olde (even in those days) Rolls Royce(?) in first few seconds - green truck (2) in Banff - 2 grey construction trucks in Perthshire Construction railway at dam site - makes phut-phut diesel noises.
johnfromstaffs ◊ 2017-10-02 12:50	The Royce is a mid 30s car, so not that old as they go. Hooper 25/30? The black saloon on the left is a Singer Ten, or possibly Twelve.
Sunbar ◊ 2017-10-04 15:47	dsl wrote - green truck (2) in Banff .... Looked long and hard at this one, both the thumbnail and in the movie... It looks to be another Austin FE tractor unit. The rearwards location of the fleet number is unusual and true for these BRS Parcels FE tractors.
