This is a 1929 Duesenberg SJ, being followed by a 1930 Buick - cars that are completely incompatible with a movie set in 1922. See more here: Link to "jerrygarrett.wordpress.com"

Here is a blog featuring probably all of the cars used in the movie http://musicnewsaustraliadotcom.blogspot.com/2012/02/great-gatsby-movie-set-classic-cars.html

I saw this movie on Mother's Day yesterday and I was able to point out some of the post-1922 cars, and it's because of those anachronisms that I like to think that this version is set in 1929 rather than the book's 1922 setting (it does make more sense to feature the Duesenberg and all the others.)

I saw this movie this afternoon - it was released here on 6 June. I agree that even though it was supposed to be 1922 most of the cars date from later than that, probably because most 1918-1922 cars are not very exciting to look at. The Duesenberg should be listed as a 198? Duesenberg II as there is plenty of evidence that it is not the real thing.

This yellow Duesenberg is not a real deal for sure. It's a modern replica or a Duesenberg II.

Two cars used in the production are currently advertised for sale here in Australia. One is a 1930 Ford Model A sedan painted as a Yellow Cab Co. taxi that looks like the 4th car in the production picture above, and the other is a 1924 Dodge roadster which doesn't appear to be in the line up.

With the DVD due to be released in about 27 days, I have pretty much found another site featuring a few the cars used in this movie, it may prove a valuable information: http://www.vmc.org.au/our-gatsby-cars.html

Now that the film is out on home video, it is a good time to check any behind the scene featurettes and deleted scenes for some extra cars.

Some unfinished Model T's in a deleted scene: [Image: vlcsnap-2013-09-03-18h19m44s110.jpg]
Pre-visualized taxis: [Image: vlcsnap-2013-09-03-18h21m20s81.jpg] [Image: vlcsnap-2013-09-03-18h21m14s241.jpg]
Anyone care to identify these cars?: [Image: vlcsnap-2013-09-03-18h21m36s218.jpg] [Image: vlcsnap-2013-09-03-18h22m27s137.jpg]

I have also found out that the Kemp Auto Museum in Chesterfield, Missouri appears to have supplied some of their cars for the film: Link to "chesterfield.patch.com"

Overhead shots of the cars at Gatsby's party as well as two other unlisted vehicles: [Image: vlcsnap-2013-09-08-08h57m31s50.jpg] [Image: vlcsnap-2013-09-08-08h57m38s144.jpg] (Behind the Studebaker):[Image: vlcsnap-2013-09-08-08h57m51s193.jpg] (the 30 Buick again?):[Image: vlcsnap-2013-09-08-08h58m00s79.jpg]

Neither link shows all the cars used on Gatsby - there was quite a large selection of vintage vehicles used over the months of filming at Fox Studios, Rozelle, Manly, Glebe Island and Mount Wilson

Gamer wrote Everything in this scene looks CGI...

Jnglmpera wrote If it's a real model I think it'd be worth listing... Either way, the motion blur makes ID'ing this improbable.
